| Requirements |
- Possess a Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) or equivalent; minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. - Finance or accounting experience, including financial accounting, budgeting, contract management, and decision-making. - Experience working in a related environment, such as tribal council, First Nation governance, or larger non-profit organizations, with provincial and federal funding programs. |
| Duties |
- Strategic leadership and direction to finance department -Financial management and oversight -Auditing and reporting -Team leadership and development -Provide expertise on accounting and auditing standards, best practices, and ethical and moral financial issues, in accordance with the CICA handbook, GAAP, professional ethics, and PSAB rules. -Participate in organizational planning and develop, in cooperation with staff and for approval by Council, short, medium, and long-term budgets, cash flow projections, and financial management plans to correspond with integrated community development |
