What skills and experience do you need? A well-developed understanding of the local and regional employer community and a good understanding of the local labour market Sensitivity to employer and job-seeker confidentiality and ability to adhere to privacy and security regulations and protocols Experience working with clients with complex barriers in a supportive and holistic manner Demonstrates a high level of sensitivity when working with vulnerable clients Self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently Proven ability to deliver material in a flexible manner with a deep appreciation and understanding of different learning styles Excellent conflict management skills and strong ability to work well under pressure Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and electronic Strong active listening skills and ability to stimulate motivation in participants Strong organizational and time management abilities including proficiency multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks, and making impromptu adjustments to work plans Experience in facilitation or coaching preferred |
Duties |
Description So what would I be doing? Deliver workshops in a flexible manner that adjusts both content and approach in response to the needs of each participant Motivate attendees to continue doing the free workshop series to gain the most benefit from it Gather and develop any additional training materials including electronic presentations Collaborate with other KES staff and project partners to ensure seamless delivery Prepare and deliver employment readiness workshops Liaise with supervisor to discuss any issues that require additional support for clients Follow-up on any outstanding inquiries generated during workshops Record attendance How is remuneration decided? Kootenay Employment Services offers opportunities for staff in this department to increase their wages with a competency based model. Most staff starting this role do not have previous experience in the WorkBC program and there is extensive training required to become proficient in the role. As you gain skills and experience in this position your competencies will rise, so too can your wage. Staff commence on $26.60 per hour, with benefits starting after 3 months. If however you have experience in WorkBC, ICM or Employment Counselling, we may consider commencing you at a higher wage, and this will be determined using our competency model. This year the this position is starting at $26.60 per hour. With offices in Creston, Cranbrook, Fernie and Invermere, we administer employment contracts, including the WorkBC program, which is a provincially funded program assisting local community members to find meaningful and sustainable employment. Due to an internal move, we re currently seeking a Facilitator in the WorkBC program. This position is based in our Cranbrook office and is a fixed term contract until March 31, 2024, with the possibility of extension. This role works directly with complex clients, facilitates workshops and has some administrative work as required.
