5 Gen Construction Ltd. is seeking a lead carpenter. Founded in 2017 - 5 Gen is an established company focused on providing quality work on efficient timelines. This is a permanent, full-time position. The successful candidate will: *be responsible for job site organization including coordinating material delivery or pick-up, job site set-up, organizing and implementing daily work load and assigning tasks to journey-people, apprentices and labourers, overseeing site clean up and maintaining/oversight of tools *co-ordinating with the owner on project scheduling, as well as ensuring timely completion of projects *assisting the owner with estimating and material take-offs as well as measuring projects/some client meetings as needed *either hold their ticket or have signing authority in B.C. to oversee apprentice carpenters *have a valid class 5 drivers license, be comfortable moving/parking work trailers *be able to pass a criminal record check *will have their own belt with hand tools, steel-toed boots and all weather work wear *be an independent and organized self-starter, who is capable of leading a team and has excellent communication skills *maintain a professional and courteous demeanour on-site with clients, sub-trades and builders and off site with co-workers and their employer *be capable and willing to work in all-weather and at heights *take direction and feedback in a mature and proactive manner *minimum of 5 years experience as a journeyman/woman or previous experience in a lead position *sub-contracting an option for the right candidate, if preferred.
