Previous farming experience is not required but is an asset. Various handyman skills, a good attention to details, and the ability to multi-task. Must be active and in good physical health with no known back or joint injuries. Tasks are often performed standing, or in a crouched position, and are always on the move; tasks are rarely seated. Willing to work in all kinds of weather (from days in the hot sun to days in the frost and rain). Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada. |
| Duties |
Assist all stages of vegetable production from seeding to sales. Will be trained according to preferred business practices and regenerative farming methods. Tasks will vary from garden prep, to seeding, weeding and watering field crops, micro-green care, cleaning and maintenance, prepping for farmer's markets and making deliveries. This is a dynamic position where tasks may change throughout the day. Can expect to work 30-40 hours during peak season in July and August. Use of small machines (tillers, mowers, hand harvesters). Mechanical aptitude is an asset. Appropriate training and safety precautions will be provided where needed. |
