Requirements Employment Requirements
• Valid Infant/Toddler ECE license to practise issued by the ECE Registry under the Ministry of Education and Child Care
• 3 Letters of Reference from someone who has directly supervised you in the field of ECE.
• Must complete a Criminal Record Check through the BC Criminal Records Review Program.
• Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR-C/AED (or equivalent approved course).
• Immunization Record, provide proof of immunization status (not necessarily fully immunized, but documentation is required under licensing) Including TB Screening
• Food Safe level 1 is considered an asset.

Duties Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary lead of the infant/toddler classroom, planning, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate, developmentally supportive programs.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the classroom team, ensuring high-quality programming and consistent routines.
• Foster secure attachments, positive social-emotional development, and early learning experiences tailored to each child.
• Observe, document, and assess children’s development, sharing insights with families and the team.
• Support daily routines, including feeding, diapering, toileting, and sleep, ensuring care is respectful, safe, and hygienic.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in accordance with BC licensing standards.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with families, providing updates on development and care.
• Promote a calm, collaborative, and drama-free workplace culture.
• Uphold strict confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
• Ensure compliance with the Child Care Licensing Regulation and all licensing requirements for infant/toddler programs.
