• Bachelor’s Degree in a related human / social services field (preferably child and youth care specialization) • Two-year recent related child and youth care experience • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience • Excellent public relations / communications skills, both verbal and written • Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of staff and other members of the community • Current BC driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract • First Aid with CPR • Use of reliable insured personal vehicle is required for this position |
| Duties |
Hours: 21 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, typically 9am-12pm and 1pm-5pm but hours may vary due to person served needs JOB SUMMARY: The PEACE Counsellor provides psycho educational programming, support, education and advocacy for children who have witnessed abuse or family conflict and change. This individual also provides emotional and parenting support to parents. Designs, promotes and delivers the PEACE (Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment) program. |
