Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and actively engage with children (floor work, movement-based play). Diploma in Health Service Work or Early Childhood Education, or a degree in Child and Youth Care (or related); equivalent education and experience considered. 1–2 years of related experience preferred, with knowledge of child development and experience working with families at risk. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of Indigenous issues in Canada. Commitment to confidentiality, lifelong learning, flexibility. |
| Duties |
Provide early childhood education resources, preventative services, and parenting support to children and families. Support child care settings by promoting inclusion for children with additional support needs through consultation, modelling, and guidance. Conduct home visits across the Ktunaxa Nation, complete developmental screenings and needs assessments, and assist with individual and family plans. Follow case management procedures, maintain confidential files, prepare reports, make referrals, liaise with community partners, and participate in meetings, training, and workshops. |
