| Requirements |
- Actively pursing a degree/career in forestry or environmental sciences. - Valid Level 5 Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract. - Level 1 Basic First Aid Certification or willing to obtain (covered by CCF). - Capable of physically demanding work under a variety of weather conditions, including hiking, bushwhacking and the use of hand tools. - Must be a team player. - Responsible, reliable, adaptable and flexible. |
| Duties |
The Forestry Summer Students will be assisting with forest development work including: - Hiking trail maintenance. - Douglas fir beetle program. - Road and block boundary layout. - Stream and ecosystem assessments and timber cruising. - Ensuring roads are properly maintained. - Logging operation site visits. - Collection and compilation of silviculture survey data. - Planning and implementing Firesmart Awareness events. - Other tasks as assigned by the Forest Manager. |
