Term: April 21 - August 17th, 2026 Office hours: Monday to Wednesday & Friday 8 – 4. This position will also attend community events outside of business hours to promote services to the community, in these instances weekly hours will be adjusted so that a maximum of 28 hours/week are filled. Accountability: Client Services Supervisor Skills needed: · Problem solving: Every client is different, and every day is different. Employment Resource Advisors must be able to think outside the box to find opportunities or community resources that match our client’s needs. · Organization: organizing client files, employer queries, office supplies, emails, online and paper applications. · Communication: Serving as the bridge between clients and KES staff, reaching out to clients, employers, colleagues, community partners (whether by phone, email, text, or carrier pigeon.. just kidding), you’ll be the friendly voice representing Kootenay Employment Services. · Sales: Ability to promote services, listen to client needs and encourage clients to utilize our services. · Independence: This position requires someone who is able to think of new ideas for promoting services, and who is self-driven to look for opportunities to increase client engagement. · Multi-tasking: Ability to juggle multiple tasks like a circus performer (metaphorically speaking, of course) answering phones, responding to emails, and handling administrative duties. Every day is different and we can guarantee that you will never get bored! · Technological literacy: With your patient and friendly approach, you’ll help clients navigate online services including applying for our employment programs, drafting a resume, or printing/faxing documents. Requirements: · Experience providing friendly and helpful customer service to individuals from diverse backgrounds. · Familiarity with local job market trends, community resources, and government programs as well as basic job search strategies. · Respect for confidentiality and privacy · Comfortable using computers including proficiency with Microsoft Office. |

Position Purpose: As an Employment Resource Advisor, you will play a vital role in assisting job seekers on their journey to sustainable employment. You will be responsible for providing administrative support, conducting job searches, and connecting clients with valuable resources and services. You will be the face of WorkBC/KES; you are the first person clients see when they enter the building. You provide a welcoming presence, and promote services to clients. You will actively provide information booths in the community to promote services whenever scheduling permits. Key responsibilities: · Assisting clients with resume writing, job search strategies, and interview preparation. · Promoting services in the community through information booths and other promotional activities. · Support clients to navigate government supports and online resources. · Maintain accurate records of client interactions and service delivery. · Contact employers who are posting jobs on local job boards to promote our KES job board and services. · Collaborate with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the center. Key performance metrics: · New clients signing up for services. · Posters distributed to various community sites. · Data on “where did you hear about us”. |
