REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS * Current Standard First Aid. * Strong verbal communication skills, including excellent customer service skills. * Ability to problem solve. * A high level of creativity and flexibility * Ability to work independently. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. * Satisfactory Criminal Record * Proficiency and confidence in working with children 6 – 18 years of age. * HIGH FIVE – Principles of Healthy Childhood Development (PHCD) or other training/certification that would provide knowledge regarding ages and physical and cognitive developmental stages of youth * Skills, expertise and experience instructing recreational programs, inclusive games and/or arts and cultural programs. * Ability to apply behaviour management strategies |
| Duties |
Under the direction of the Recreation Services Supervisor, the Recreation Instructor is responsible for the quality instruction and supervision of skatepark recreation programs. The employee is responsible for program planning, setup and takedown of equipment, participant attendance, general safety and overall enjoyment of the patrons attending the program. |
