Student Food Processing Position

Requirements Students between the ages of 15 and 30 years old
Actively promote and exhibit enthusiasm in the workplace
Work closely within a team environment
Work inside and outside in varied temperatures and elements
Time management skills
Solid communication skills
Perform work that is physical in nature, repetitive tasks and demands of harvesting fruits and vegetables
Food safe level 1 certification is an asset, but training can be provided if required
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training is an asset
Lift up to 50lbs
Outgoing and comfortable speaking with the public

Duties Preparing stocks and/or soups
Preparing fruits and vegetables for secondary processing - freeze drying, canning, etc.
Meal preparation
Assisting with harvests in the field
Canning and secondary processing
Promoting the program at the market and other community events
Properly follow procedures to receive deliveries
Ensure all coolers/freezers are kept organized and clean
Check off and complete morning temperature logs
Daily, weekly and monthly cleaning of facility and equipment
Accepting duties as assigned for operational requirements
