Requirements |
You must have a minimum of one year/season working full-time on a Canadian style commercial apiary, have a clean valid driver’s license and not be allergic to bee stings. Knowledge of commercial beekeeping equipment and mechanical devices, a forklift operator’s certificate and First Aid Level 1 certification are all additional assets. |
Duties |
Caring for honeybees in the appropriate manner, coordinating the production of replacement bees & equipment; recognizing, reporting, monitoring hive health issues and applying appropriate treatment/controls; harvesting honey, pollen and beeswax. You may supervise a small team of workers, operate and maintain apiary equipment (including forklifts, cranes, trucks and pumps) and conduct bee yard maintenance. You will also be required to operate extractors and other honey house equipment and perform duties involving production of honey, wax and other goods we produce. |
