REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Current Standard First Aid. • Strong verbal communication skills, including excellent customer service skills. • Ability to problem solve. • A high level of creativity and flexibility • Ability to work independently. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Satisfactory Criminal Record. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Previous experience working in a recreation facility • Knowledge and proven skills building relationships with patrons and dealing with behaviour management both with children and adults • Valid B.C. Driver’s License and safe driving record. |
| Duties |
The Recreation Instructor is responsible for the quality instruction and supervision of recreation programs. The employee is responsible for program planning, setup and takedown of equipment, participant attendance, general safety and overall enjoyment of the patrons attending the program. The successful candidate must be available to work a varied work schedule based on operational demands that includes day, weekend, and/or evening shifts.
