Requirements We are looking to hire an experienced heavy-duty mechanic to inspect, service, and maintain our range of heavy-duty transportation equipment.

To ensure success as a heavy equipment mechanic, you should have proven experience working with heavy machinery (we will provide apprenticeship training to the right individual), be physically fit, and be able to troubleshoot issues on the job site. Ultimately, a top-notch heavy equipment mechanic can repair and service even the biggest machinery with expert care.

Fleet Manager Responsibilities toward the fleet:
-Perform routine maintenance on trucks, such as checking batteries and changing oil to ensure proper vehicle running.
-Inspect various parts of trucks, including brake systems, wheel bearings and steering mechanisms to ensure they are in the proper condition to operate effectively
-Use different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, hoists and jacks, to repair trucks while constantly utilizing safety precautions
-Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devises such as motor analyzers, handheld computers and chassis charts to determine how to address problems
-Test drive vehicles to ensure they are running properly and to find issues to determine what the solution will be
-Perform major repair work with necessary as well as fixing parts, valves, bearings and gears as needed and repair vehicle cooling and heating systems
-Ensure parts conform to factory specifications by inspecting and verifying clearances and dimensions.
-To oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of each company owned commercial vehicle
-Schedule and oversee CVIP’s and ensure all record keeping is handed into admin on a regular basis
-Partner with reputable repair and parts shops in favorable locations
-Book repairs for trucks that are out on the road to ensure they are up and running in a timely manor
-Ensure all vehicles are set up for the next days duties

Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Mechanic or in automotive repair is preferred (WE WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT INDIVIDUAL)
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools
- Familiarity with industrial equipment, such as Cummins, Detroit, and Paccar engines, is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
