Qualifications Education, Training and Experience • Grade 12 diploma plus specialized training and/or experience in fire safety, disaster planning, criminology, or a related field. • Five (5) years of related management experience in a large institutional or campus environment, preferably in a healthcare setting. • Membership with IAHSS (International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety). • Certification as an instructor in a non-violent crisis intervention program and working knowledge of appropriate legislation and provincial/national standards on fire safety, building codes, municipal by-laws, security, working with security systems and related technology and protection of privacy is an asset. Skills and Abilities • Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, direct, manage, and implement. • Demonstrated ability to make presentations to groups. • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment. • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of personal computers and computerized systems. • Valid Canadian drivers license equivalent to a BC Class 5 drivers license without any graduated licensing restrictions. • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position. |
