How is remuneration decided?
Kootenay Employment Services offers opportunities for staff in this department to increase their wages with a competency based model. Most staff starting this role do not have previous experience in employment related facilitation (this does not include experience in teaching and presenting), nor working with the specific demographic of clients we serve. We provide training to those with we hire who have core skills to ensure these competencies can be gained. As you grow in this position you can see clearly in the model, your level of pay, and as your required skills rise, so too can your wage. Most staff commence on $26.60 per hour, with benefits starting after 3 months, and after 1 year vacation entitlement starts to increase. If however you have experience in employment facilitation and working with diverse and highly barriered client groups, or employment counselling with this demographic; we may consider commencing you at a higher wage, and this will be determined using the competency model. This year the facilitator range is starting at $26.60 per hour and our top level of pay is $28.20 per hour.
