Requirements |
• Knowledge and understanding of non-profit and social service sectors. • Clear criminal record check. • Understanding of emotional and psychological impacts of trauma resulting from abusive and/or violent situations. • Respect for Women’s rights to their own values, beliefs, cultures, and choices. • Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality and sensitivity towards all information. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Preferred background/education in Human Service related sector. • Available to be on call for work some evenings, weekends, and some holidays • Must have reliable transportation Must be able to lift 50lbs |
Duties |
• Help cover the 24 hour crisis line by committing to shifts within the rotating schedule. On Call (OC) and Back-Up (BU) shifts are available. Shifts occur outside of office hours – mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays; • If a client needs immediate shelter, scheduled OC and/or BU workers will meet the client at the office to verify suitability to the safe home program. Must be within a 50 km radius of the office during their shift • Keep complete and accurate client records. • Assist with other tasks as assigned by the Team Executive Director. |
