Qualifications:
– Level 1 qualified with the Building Officials Association of BC (Level 2 preferred)
– Post-secondary diploma in Science or Building Science;
– or an equivalent combination of education and experience working as a Building Official or Plan Checker
– Trade qualification in carpentry and/or plumbing an asset
– Member of the BOABC or eligibility to attain
This opportunity is also open to student members of the BOABC, who are currently enrolled & participating in a course of study relating to Building Regulations.

| Duties |
The Building Official reviews building plans and permit applications for Building Code and Bylaw compliance, as well as inspecting buildings under construction for conformity with approved plans, building code, bylaw and other applicable enactments. Operates in a client focused environment; able to effectively work with owners, contractors and Registered Professionals.
