Requirements Solid understanding of relationship building techniques
· High degree of telephone, public relations, written and oral communications skills
· Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision
· Ability to deal tactfully with other staff members and the general public
· Ability to work collaboratively with staff and members on special projects
· Well-developed planning, organizational skills
· Strong research and report writing skills
· Ability to problem solve
· Ability to take initiative


· Grade 12 completion
· 2yr post-secondary education, preferably business administration, marketing, or related field (preferable but not required)
· Sales or related experience required
· Valid BC Driver’s license and use of personal vehicle
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software


· Process new member applications on CRM, ensure all data completed, create, and send membership invoices

· Maintain an accurate and detailed membership database in the CRM, accounting system, print, and online directories.

· Prepare membership reports monthly

· Prepare annual Membership report for AGM

· Follow up on/collect unpaid membership dues 60+ days overdue in a timely manner

· Accurate reporting on all functions (membership and CRM)


· Work with Executive Director to create recruitment strategies in alignment with the operational plan, develop targets, metrics and reporting to support and promote the growth of the membership

· Work with Executive Director to create an attractive member recruitment package

· Meet or exceed monthly and annual recruitment and retention objectives

· Provide new member intake appts to review benefits and marketing opportunities

· Provide Chamber orientation to all new members


· Assist in planning and implementing programs to promote the growth of the membership

· Assist Chamber members in leveraging their membership through benefits, connections, marketing opportunities etc.

· Facilitate Walk-About-Wednesday and Business Walk programs and provide report of results

· Gather and summarize feedback from members/prospective members regarding the activities and benefits of the Chamber

· Work with Executive Director to create retention strategies in alignment with the operational plan, develop targets, metrics and reporting to promote the sustainability of the membership

· Build and maintain working relationships with benefit providers and recruit new local


· Provide input to marketing staff regarding promotions of Chamber membership and member benefits

· Support the Chamber’s strategic plan and business plan

· Promote marketing opportunities to members including but not limited to: Web marketing, e-newsletter ads etc.

· Provide Marketing staff with updates for Chamber website and social media channels regularly including up to date benefit information


· Promote, liaise, and attend Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies

· Assist with event registration, setup, and takedown

· Provide support to Chamber staff to facilitate the completion of daily duties including but not limited to reception services and information on Chamber membership or events
· Attend public functions as required
· Work non-traditional hours as required
· Attending meetings and seminars as well as meetings with local businesses requiring travel and use of personal vehicle
· Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
