Requirements SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
The Program Director must fulfill the following requirements:
a) Experience working with and leading not-for-profit organizations or Business Administration diploma
b) Proven skills in administrative tasks including bookkeeping, budgeting, project and special event planning, project management, file management, logistics, and general items related to operating a not-for-profit society or a small business.
c) Energetic, highly motivated, a natural leader and visionary.
d) An aptitude for strategic thinking and implementation, ability to recognize and capitalize on new opportunities, threats, trends.
e) Familiarity and confidence to lead advocacy/lobbying and fundraising efforts.
f) Experience and ability to build partnerships with various interests and stakeholders.
g) Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
h) Ability to work independently with minimal direction, yet also work cooperatively with individuals, groups, stakeholders, government agencies, etc.
i) Experienced communication and interpersonal skills.
j) Skill and efficiency in preparing grant proposals, technical and professional documents, policies, requests for proposals, contracts, reports, news releases, letters and business correspondence.
k) Demonstrated experience in contract supervision and/or employee supervision.
l) Technical proficiency in computers, Microsoft Office, accounting software (QuickBooks), online file management/sharing, and other programs.
m) First Aid certification is an asset.
n) Ability and comfort with working in the field on occasion.
o) Ability to legally work in Canada is required.
p) Ability to work from a home office (computer and telephone will be provided).
q) Criminal record check is required.
r) Driver’s license, and use of a reliable personal vehicle.


Duties TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Program Director is expected to perform the following duties:
General Organizational Management:

a) Maintain all EKISC files and documentation
b) Maintain society status, insurance policies, WorkSafe BC, CRA, etc.
c) Act as a signatory on behalf of organization.
d) Co-ordinate, oversee and complete annual reporting requirements to meet funder requests and to maintain not-for-profit status.
e) Organize and prepare EKISC Board and Committee Meetings documents.
f) Function as the ‘public face’ of EKISC and its primary contact.
g) Administer day-to-day activities of the organization.
h) Perform other duties as directed by the EKISC board.
